IT architecture background

Dynamic business growth and an expanding customer base revealed the limitations of the existing IT architecture. Before implementing ISPsystem solutions, the infrastructure was managed using a set of fragmented open-source solutions (Proxmox, OpenStack, KVM) and hand-crafted scripts.

This created two key problems:

  • Scalability constraints – manual server management and complex tool integration prevented the infrastructure from quickly growing to meet the increasing demand.
  • High operational costs and risks – labor-intensive service deployment and their associated billing processes increased costs, response times, and the risk of human error, directly threatening SLA compliance.

The company needed a solution that could automate the lifecycle of infrastructure services (VPS, dedicated servers, hosting), but at the same time seamlessly integrate with its existing billing system, which is the technological core of the business.

After an in-depth market analysis, 4VPS selected ISPsystem products due to their flexibility, open API, and ability to deeply integrate technologies into the existing stack without a major redesign.

Project architecture after integration

A centralized management system was built based on ISPsystem products:

VMmanager – for automatic deployment and management of virtual machines (KVM).

 

DCImanager – for operation with physical inventory (dedicated servers).

All of these components are integrated via a single API with 4VPS's own billing system, as well as with monitoring systems (Zabbix, Prometheus/Grafana) and DDoS protection, creating a comprehensive, manageable ecosystem.

How ISPsystem products are used

ISPsystem products have become the basis of operations:

VMmanager

manages 90% of VPS operations, automating their creation, reboot, reinstallation, and monitoring.

DCImanager

automates approximately 40% of dedicated server operations, including OS installation and hardware management.

More than 20 employees from the technical support, administration, and development departments work with the system daily. The key principle is that all operations are initiated through internal billing, which transmits commands via API to the corresponding ISPsystem control panel, ensuring full automation of the service lifecycle.
